Tub to Shower Conversion

A tub-to-shower conversion replaces a tub you rarely use with a shower that is easier to step into, easier to clean and often more comfortable. The usual tub alcove is about five feet long and thirty inches deep, which is enough for a roomy shower with a bench, a niche and a glass door or a clean curtain track.

We handle the demolition, the plumbing changes, the waterproofing and the finish work as one project across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The drain is moved to the right spot for the new pan, the walls are rebuilt on a proper backer, and everything is flood tested before tile or panels go on.

How long does a conversion take?

Most take several days to a couple of weeks depending on tile, drains and plumbing changes. We give you a schedule after we see the bathroom.

Can I keep a tub somewhere else in the house?

Yes. Many owners keep a tub in a primary bath and convert a hall or guest bath.

Will the shower be too small?

A standard alcove makes a comfortable shower, especially with a glass door and a niche. We show the layout before work starts.
