Steam Shower Installation

A steam shower needs more than a steam generator. The enclosure must be sealed so steam stays in, the ceiling should slope so condensation runs down the wall instead of dripping on you, the surfaces must be fully waterproof, and the door must close tightly. Good planning makes the difference between a spa experience and a damp, drafty shower.

We design steam showers with the right materials, a vapor-tight membrane, a ceiling and door suited to steam, and a generator placed within the manufacturer's distance of the steam head. Our steam installations across Nashville and Middle Tennessee include simple digital controls, a bench and a ventilation plan for the room.

FAQ

Common questions about steam showers

Can I add steam to my existing shower?

Sometimes. The enclosure must be sealed and suited to steam, so we inspect the shower before we advise.

Where does the generator go?

Usually in a nearby closet, vanity or attic space within the maker's allowed distance from the steam head.

Does steam damage tile?

Not when the shower is built with the right membrane and materials. We build steam enclosures with that in mind.
